7 DAYS BIRDING Tour (aba 14)

Day 1 : Arrival and Optional Birding Tour At Entebbe

Aba shuttle will pick you from the airport on arrival and you will be transferred to Windsor in Entebbe from where you will be briefed about the tour. Depending on the time, you will watch birds in Entebbe. After which you will retire to your residence.

 Day 2 : Birding Tour of Botanical Gardens, Lutembe Beach and Zika Forest

Prepare for a whole day birding at the Botanical gardens, around the Entebbe area, Lutembe beach and the Zika forest. Expect to view birds like weavers, sunbirds, black herons and a variety of birds depending on the season. Dinner and overnight at Botanical hotel

Day 3 : Bird Watching In Mabamba Swamp

Move from Botanical hotel and go to Mabamba swamp for the Shoebill stork and a variety of other bird species. After that proceed to Lake Mburo National Park and visit the Kaaku swamp to see birds like Lesser Moorhen, jacana, the heron and a variety of other birds plus lunch in Mbarara. After that proceed to Lake Mburo National park for dinner and overnight at Rwonyo rest camp.

Day 4 : Lake Mburo National Park Bird Watching Safari

On this day, go for a morning birding and mammals. The park boasts of more than 315 different bird species including the rare shoe bill stork, papyrus yellow warbler, African fin foot, saddle billed stork, brown chested wattled plover, Caruthers’s cist cola, tabora cist cola, great snipe, Abyssinian   ground hornbill and white winged warbler. In addition expect to view animals like the antelopes, zebras and many others. After lunch go for a launch cruise. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo rest camp.

Day 5 : Queen Elizabeth National Park Bird Watching Safari

Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. After lunch go for a boat ride on Kazinga channel where you shall see water birds; African spoon bill, African skimmer which is seasonal and many others plus hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge or Jacana safari lodge.

Day 6 : Birding In The Kasenyi Track For Savannah Birds

Take a morning drive at Kasenyi to track savannah birds like the Martial eagle, Rupell’s griffon vulture, Temmiinck’s courser and many others. In the afternoon bird around the crater area. Dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge or Jacana safari lodge.

Day 7 : Drive Back To Kampala

A leisurely drive back to Kampala.
